Made in limited runs using rare, hand-selected British full-grain hides, this 100% cotton rope dog lead and leather dog collar set blends timeless design with exceptional craftsmanship—for dogs with real character.

Each rope lead set includes our signature keyring lead-keep, for hands-free carrying when your dog is off lead.

At The Gentry, we obsess over materials so you don’t have to. Every piece begins with full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather, sustainably produced in the UK and handpicked for its unique grain, rich tone, and natural “pick up”—a characteristic that helps the leather develop a warm, lived-in patina over time.

Visible growth marks are a hallmark of natural, unprocessed leather. These hides are selected in small batches, making each collar subtly unique.

For dogs that pull: We recommend the darker Chestnut leather over lighter tones like Tan or Leaf Green, which may show wear more quickly.

Handmade in Surrey using traditional techniques and tools, each piece features solid cast brass hardware—robust, beautiful, and still used in our very first collars.

Care Instructions

Leather
Crafted from full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather and treated with a natural balm. While durable, it’s not waterproof.
Clean with a damp cloth, let dry, then apply a small amount of the balm using a soft cloth or sponge.

Tip: For heavy pullers, natural leather tones like Chestnut are more forgiving than dyed colours like Leaf Green.

Brass Hardware
Built to last a lifetime. Restore shine with a small amount of brass polish (e.g. Brasso), avoiding contact with leather and rope.

Cotton Rope
Not machine washable due to fixed brass and leather parts. Clean gently with a soft-bristle brush and mild soap.
